ABOUT

Under the Scale Travels program we present ) rev ( an audiovisual and artistic installation by Pedro Tudela and João Martinho Moura. ) rev ( is an artistic installation that starts from the premises advanced in the research by Portuguese media artist João Martinho Moura, crossing with the links, connotations, and adaptations of natural and notional elements developed by the Portuguese artist Pedro Tudela.

In recent years, João Martinho Moura has been developing artistic research works at the INL - International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, establishing a link between nanotechnology and the media arts. In partnership with Pedro Tudela, explores visualisations and physicality’s based on the concept associated with carbon nanotube structures, one of the many research projects taking place at INL, materialising the ability of the matter becoming something else. ) rev ( reverts, revisits and reveals encounters of probable reversals, beginning, for example, with the title 'rev' itself that read in the mirror means 'to see'.

Researcher and media artist, João Martinho Moura is interested in embedded interfaces, computer music, and computational aesthetics. Adopting new ways of representing the body in digital media, it creates interactive audiovisual artefacts. Fine artist, musician, set designer and assistant professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, Pedro Tudela is one of the founding members of the @c collective and the Chronicle publishing house.
